Rough Transcript:
[00:00:00] I unwittingly created the creature that will, in the prequel, destroy Cloud Town High. Welcome to Cloud Town Tuesday, the day where I share a page from my graphic novel, Cloud Town, and um, tell you about the process of making it. It's like a, , editor's commentary on a DVD. So, if you're a comics fan, if you're a friend of mine, if you are an artist, Looking for insights into the comics process.
Here it is. Let's go. Let's do it.
All right, so After this we're gonna get into the actual pages or at least the intro pages and we'll start working with my friends talking to you about it but This last end page. Uh, I gotta say I really like, uh, The little alligator buffalo guy I like the hump there I'm proud of this one. I was really getting in the swing of it.
Um, I took images from the story, some of the Hurricanes we interact with. Um, I [00:01:00] skipped, uh, the middle one there because I didn't want to reveal the end of the book. And I wanted to leave spaces for kids to draw on books, which is always fun. Name their own hurricanes. Um, yeah. And yeah, one of these creatures is going to be the monster that appears in the prequel.
One of the things that is fun about this, like as I was pitching sequels, prequels, daydreaming about what happens before and after, is um, what I just made up in this moment um, affects a lot of what I get to do or experiment with. So these creatures around here because they are close to the time when Cloud Town 1 takes place are going to By definition affect more of what happens in the world.
So that's pretty fun I'm excited for you guys to see more of me talking with other cartoonists about the drawing process because that seems [00:02:00] To be more exciting to me. Anyway, man I am bushwhicked from my day job. I worked like a 13 hour day biking people up hills in a tricycle yesterday. So I'm super exhausted.
Um, but I've got a lot on my plate. I've got to send some more pitches out. I've got to experiment with a different art style for one of these. The publishers I'm sending to . And, um, I've got a really cool vision for the prequel. Um, at least the small batch publishing method I'm excited to use. So, uh, thanks for stopping in.
This is a short one. They're gonna get a little more in depth again very soon. And, uh, have a great day. Hey guys, quick update that monster that I said ended up. Destroying cloud down high. Well, the comic about that is done and totally free on my email list. There's a link below. Just give me your email. I send you the comic [00:03:00] it's 24 pages tells the story of how Penn and olive become best friends.
